Ancient Beauty Secret
For an inexpensive and effective dry skin treatment, borrow a tip from the Ayurvedic tradition. Ayurveda is the natural healing system that has been used in India for thousands of years.
Just before a bath or shower, gently massage your body with warm oil. Choose organic sesame, sweet almond, or coconut oil (I prefer almond oil). Heat about 1/4 cup of the oil briefly in the microwave, making sure it's not hot. Standing or sitting on a towel, slowly rub the oil all over your body. Use long sweeping strokes.
Let your skin absorb the oil for a few moments, then bathe (be careful, the tub will be slippery). An Ayurvedic massage will leave your skin deliciously soft and your mind calm and relaxed... which is possibly the REAL beauty secret.
Natural Moisturizer
For a 100% natural moisturizer, try Aubrey Organics Moisturizing Cream for Dry Skin. This moisturizer contains the prized Rosa Mosqueta oil. Harvested from the wild roses in the Andes of South America, this oil is recognized for its powerful rejuvenating properties. The creamy moisturizer smells like almonds and a has silky feel. Used regularly, it is very effective on dry skin. The 4oz. container is small, but a little goes a long way.
